"Czech film" is an expression used in some parts of Europe to qualify a situation which may (or sometimes not) be well enjoyed, but which is completely impossible to understand. Kind of like a Czech film, as the inhabitants of those parts of Europe might claim. I have yet to verify the adequacy of this comparison.

[embarrassed smile from Eric]

Which article? He probably wrote lots. Ah, those theorists. The thing is, they do things that no one else understands anyway, and so people just trust their stuff blindly. I'll tell him :-) He's actually very sweet, and he's a postdoc, which makes him a little less awkward to talk too. He acts and talks just like Andrew though, and seems to prefer hanging out with the students rather than the profs. He's a big kid.
